All-on-4 Dental Implants
All-on-6 Dental Implants
Why All-on-4 or All-on-6
Patients with no teeth in both or either of their jaws, require extensive Dental Implant treatment to restore their teeth and have a normal life. Unfortunately though replacement of teeth with dental implants is an expensive procedure. Hence for patients with no teeth new techniques have evolved, so as to provide best results with affordable costs. All-on-4 and All-on-6 Dental Implant treatment methodology relies on placement of all teeth in a denture over 4 or 6 dental implants respectively.
The placement of the Dental Implants is done in accordance to each other so that equal distribution of forces is achieved. This provides a foundation support to the overlying Denture. Equal distribution of forces is necessary so as to balance all the chewing forces and not to exert more than required pressure on individual Dental Implants.
The selection among the two is done on the basis of overall health of the jaw bone in consideration and also weather mandibular or maxillary arch is involved. Ideally the amount of pressure on the lower jaw bone is higher than the maxillary jaw bone, hence more number of implants are placed in Mandibular ( Lower) jaw in comparison to Maxillary (Upper) Jaw.
